Privacy you can understand
Our current local-first apps are designed to do their core work directly on your device. We explain how each product handles your information, including when something stays local and when a specific function requires a network connection.
As Eden Apps grows, different products may work differently. Each product's privacy information explains how that particular app handles your data.
- 01
Where your work lives
In our current web apps, the work you create is stored locally in your browser, whether that's a plan you're building, an invoice you're drafting, or a document you're editing.
On iPhone and iPad, your work is stored within the app on your device.
Our current local-first apps don't require an Eden Apps account or cloud sync for their core features.
- 02
Built to stay local
Our current local-first apps process their core content (such as text, numbers, and files) directly on your device. That content isn't uploaded to Eden Apps servers.
- 03
When a connection is needed
Some specific functions still require a network connection.
Purchasing Pro, restoring a purchase, or checking a Pro unlock requires communication with the services that handle payments and access. On the web, this may involve RevenueCat and Stripe. On iPhone and iPad, purchases are handled through Apple's App Store infrastructure.
The work you create in the app (your documents, numbers, and files) is not part of the purchase process. Those providers may process transaction information and diagnostics according to their own privacy practices.
Local PDF on the web has one additional exception: the first time you use text recognition, it downloads the recognition engine it needs. Your files are not included in that download.
- 04
Extensions work locally too
Our current Chrome extensions run in your browser and request only the permissions needed for their particular function.
When an extension needs information from the page you're using, that information is processed locally in your browser rather than being uploaded to Eden Apps.
Our local summarizing extensions also create their summaries on your device. Your source content isn't uploaded to Eden Apps to generate the summary.
See for yourself
You can use your browser's Network panel (right click → Inspect → Network) to see when a web app communicates over the internet.
Some functions, such as purchases, restoring purchases, verifying access, or downloading a required component, may require a connection.
Whether an app works locally or uses online services, you'll find it explained clearly.
What an app does with your information shouldn't be a mystery.
