This page answers questions about the six typefaces, writing and printing cards, and the unlock. For anything it does not cover, email support@edenapps.app.
The typefaces
Eden Fonts holds six original typefaces: Eden Nocturne, Eden Caspian, Eden Rosin, Eden Opal, Eden Selah and Eden Dune. Every letter in them was drawn from nothing by the app's own code, each face with a different pen. Looking through them, setting your own words in all six in the Type Lab, and the Pairings are free.
Each face shows its own measurements: where its stress falls, its contrast, and the smallest size it holds together at. Those are measured off the drawn letters rather than declared. If a face has not drawn a character you type, the app leaves it out and tells you which, rather than quietly borrowing one from another font.
Writing a card
Open the Cards tab. Write your words, pick a face, and choose the paper: a 5 × 7 or 4 × 6 card, a 5 × 5 square, a business card, A5, A4 or US Letter, upright or turned. Set the size, where the words sit, the ink and the paper's colour. The card you are writing is remembered, so closing the app does not lose it.
Writing, printing, and saving the card as a PDF or a picture are all free.
Printing at true size
A card is laid out in real points, so it prints at the size you chose: a 5 × 7 card comes out five inches by seven. Print puts the card into the system print dialog as a PDF, and Save PDF hands you the same file. When you print, set the scale to 100 percent and turn off "Scale to Fit" or "Fit to Page". A printer set to Letter paper prints the card in the middle of the sheet at its true size; a print shop can cut it from the PDF.
Save picture makes a PNG at 300 dots to the inch, which is print quality.
If the size slider goes under the smallest size a face holds together at, the app says so. Below that floor the thin strokes may drop out in print, and the warning is there so you find out before the printer does.
The unlock
One purchase, made once, opens two things: installing the six faces on your iPhone or iPad, and exporting their .otf files to keep. Everything else in the app stays free.
Installing puts a face on the device itself. Tap Install on a face's page, or Install the collection in My Type. iOS asks you to confirm each face with its own dialog, so the whole collection is six confirmations. Installed faces appear in Settings ▸ General ▸ Fonts and in any app with a font picker, such as Pages, Keynote, Numbers, Mail and Notes. To remove one, use Remove on its page in the app, or Settings ▸ General ▸ Fonts.
Exporting hands you the .otf file through the share sheet. AirDrop it to a Mac, put it in Files, or use it in Figma or InDesign. The Terms page sets out what you may do with the files and what you may not pass on.
Your purchase
The purchase belongs to the Apple Account that made it. If installing or exporting still shows the Pro mark after you buy, open My Type and tap Restore Purchases, and the app asks the App Store for your purchase. If it is still locked, email us with the email address of the Apple Account you used.
Refunds are handled by Apple, at reportaproblem.apple.com.
Privacy
Eden Fonts has no account and no analytics, and it talks to the App Store only about your purchase. The card you are writing and the faces you have kept stay on your device, and deleting the app removes them. The Privacy page lists what the app stores.
Deleting the app does not remove faces you installed on the device. Remove those in Settings ▸ General ▸ Fonts.
