These terms cover your use of the Eden Apps family of tools: My Snowball, Local PDF, Local Invoice, LocalResume, Local Journal, Local Scan, Local Home Inventory, Local Receipts, and Local Subscriptions (the "Apps"), the Mac tools (Furrow, Pagenook, Clearleaf, and Bookplate), and the Chrome extensions. By using any of them, you agree to these terms.
The Apps
The Apps run on your device: in your web browser on the web, and as apps on iPhone and iPad. You can use them right away. Local Journal is free: it has no Pro upgrade, no purchase, and nothing in the payment sections below applies to it. The other Apps offer an optional "Pro" upgrade that unlocks additional features. For the Apps listed above, Pro is currently a one-time purchase. We may add, change, or discontinue features over time.
As Eden Apps grows, different products may be offered differently. How a product is sold, including its price and whether it is a one-time purchase or a subscription, is stated clearly on that product's own page and at checkout before you buy. Where a product's terms differ from this page, the product's own terms apply to it.
Pro upgrades & restore codes
For the Apps listed above, a Pro upgrade is a single payment that unlocks Pro features for that App. On the web, payments are processed through Stripe and RevenueCat. After a web purchase you receive a restore code that lets you unlock Pro in your web browser on your other devices. Keep it private: anyone with your code can unlock Pro. Your code works in a web browser: it won't unlock the iPhone or iPad app, which sells Pro separately through the App Store.
Purchases on iPhone & iPad
In the iPhone and iPad apps, Pro is sold through the App Store using Apple's in app purchase system. Apple handles the checkout, your receipt comes from Apple, and refunds are handled by Apple. You can request one at reportaproblem.apple.com. App Store purchases don't use restore codes; to bring Pro back on a new device, use Restore Purchases with your Apple Account. Purchases made on the web and in the App Store are separate.
Refunds (Pro upgrades bought on the web)
If you're not happy with a Pro upgrade bought on the web, email us within 30 days of purchase for a full refund. Once approved, your money goes back to your original payment method. The time it takes to appear on your statement depends on the payment provider, the card network, and your bank; for card payments processed by Stripe, Stripe states this is typically about 5 to 10 business days. When a refund is issued, the associated Pro access is removed. Refunds for App Store purchases are handled by Apple, as described above.
The Mac tools
Furrow, Pagenook, Clearleaf, and Bookplate are native Mac apps. They are currently sold through the Mac App Store, where Apple is your seller: Apple takes the payment, sends the receipt, and handles refunds under its own policy, and your copy arrives ready to use, with no licence code. Direct sales on this site haven't opened yet. The sections below about price, seller, licence codes, and refunds describe how a Mac tool bought directly from Eden Apps on this site will work once they do.
Prices for direct sales will be shown on this site and at checkout, including any applicable sales tax or VAT.
Who sells you a Mac tool here
Purchases made here are handled by FastSpring, acting as the merchant of record. FastSpring is the seller for the transaction itself and is responsible for collecting and remitting sales tax and VAT. Your receipt comes from them, and their terms govern the payment. Everything else about a tool bought here (the licence, the refund promise, the support) is provided by Eden Apps.
What your Mac tool licence allows
Buying a Mac tool gives you a licence to use it for your own work, personal or commercial, on the Macs you use. A code for one tool unlocks that tool; the code for the four together unlocks all of them. You can reinstall and enter your code again as often as you need. There's no activation limit and nothing to deactivate first.
Please don't publish, resell, or pass your code around, and don't attempt to forge or tamper with one. There's no account here and no server checking up on you. The code standing in for payment is the whole system, so it only holds up if it isn't handed out. A code that turns up published may stop being honoured in later versions.
How a Mac tool bought here reaches you
You get two things when you buy: a download link for the app and your licence code. Paste the code in the first time you open the app and it unlocks straight away. The check happens on your Mac, by maths, against a key built into the app itself, so it works with the network switched off. If either goes astray, email us and we'll send it again.
Refunds (Mac tools bought here)
If a Mac tool isn't right for you, email us within 30 days of buying it and we'll refund it in full. There's no form to fill in. We may ask what didn't work, because that feedback can help us improve the next version, but your refund doesn't depend on your answer and you don't owe us an explanation. You keep whatever you already made with the tool. Refunds go back through FastSpring to the payment method you used. Full details are on the Refund Policy page. If Apple sold you yours, Apple issues that refund instead. Ask at reportaproblem.apple.com.
The Mac tools are provided "as is"
The Mac tools are built and tested to our standard, but they're provided "as is" and aren't guaranteed to be free of every possible issue. Each one saves a fresh copy rather than overwriting your original, which is deliberate, but please keep your own backups of anything important. Our liability for a Mac tool is limited to what you paid for it.
Chrome extensions
Eden Apps also makes Chrome extensions. They run in your browser, work right away, and offer an optional Pro unlock, currently available as a one-time purchase through ExtensionPay (checkout by Stripe). The same refund promise applies: if you're not happy with an extension's Pro unlock, email extensions@edenapps.app within 30 days of purchase for a full refund. Everything else in these terms applies to the extensions as it does to the Apps.
Acceptable use
You may use the Apps for your own personal or business purposes. Please don't attempt to disrupt, reverse engineer for malicious purposes, or misuse the Apps or the website.
Not professional advice
The Apps are tools to help you organize and create your own documents and plans. Their outputs (including debt payoff projections, invoices, and resumes) are for your convenience and are not financial, legal, tax, or other professional advice. You are responsible for reviewing and verifying anything you rely on or send to others. Text read off a scanned page by Local Scan is never perfect. Check anything important against the original.
Provided "as is"
The Apps are provided "as is," without warranties of any kind. We work hard to make them accurate and reliable, but we can't guarantee they will be free of errors or available at all times.
Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, Eden Apps will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the Apps. Where an App stores your data on your device, you are responsible for keeping your own backups of anything important.
Changes to these terms
We may update these terms from time to time; we'll revise the date at the top of this page. If an individual product has additional or different terms, its product-specific terms will explain what applies to that product.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Texas, United States, without regard to conflict of law rules. Eden Apps is operated by an individual (a sole proprietor) based in Texas.
