The short version
Local Car Rental Check has no accounts, no analytics, and no advertising. The app contains no code that sends your information over the internet. Your rentals, photos, and notes are kept on this iPhone or iPad.
What is stored
Each rental's details, walkaround photos, damage pins, close-ups, fuel and odometer readings, checklist, and notes are stored inside the app. A device backup you make with iCloud or on a computer includes this app's data, as it does for most apps.
Camera
The camera is on only while the walkaround screen is open, or while you take a close-up of a mark. The app keeps just the photos you take there.
Your photo library
When you choose Choose from Photos, iOS shows its own picker and gives the app only the photo you pick. The app does not ask for access to your whole library.
The copies the app keeps
Every photo is saved as a resized copy with the phase, the angle, and the time printed along the bottom. Making the copy removes the photo's location and other embedded details.
Reminders
Due-back reminders are scheduled by iOS on this device. The app asks for permission to send notifications only when you set up a reminder, never during a walkaround. You can turn them off for any rental on its rental screen, or for the whole app in the Settings app.
The PDF
The PDF is made on this device. It stays in the app until you share it or save it somewhere yourself.
Purchases
Pro is bought from Apple in the App Store. Apple handles the payment, and the app checks the purchase with Apple's StoreKit. Your payment details never reach the app.
Deleting
Deleting a rental deletes its photos, pins, and notes. Removing the app erases everything it stored, so make the PDF first for any rental you may need later.
No tracking
There is no analytics code and no advertising code in this app, and no tracking of any kind. Nothing you enter is sent to us, and we never receive it. We do not sell data. You can check this yourself: turn on Airplane Mode and everything keeps working, the walkaround and the PDF included, except buying or restoring Pro.
Children
Nothing is collected about anyone using this app, at any age.
Changes
If this changes, the date above changes with it, and anything new that uses the network will be described here before it ships.
