The short version

Local Finance Manager has no sign-in, analytics or advertising. Your ledger is kept on this device. StoreKit connects to the App Store for the Pro price, purchase and Restore Purchases. Files leave the app when you choose to export or share them.

No bank connection

Local Finance Manager does not connect to a bank or ask for bank sign-in details. You choose a statement file, and the app reads that file on this device.

What this app is

Local Finance Manager records the figures you enter or import. It does not connect to any bank or financial service, it does not move money, and it does not give financial, investment, or tax advice. What the figures mean, and what to do about them, is yours to decide or to take to someone qualified.

What is stored

Your accounts, transactions, categories, rules, and budgets live only inside Local Finance Manager, on this iPhone or iPad. A device backup you make with iCloud or on a computer includes this app's data, as it does for most apps.

Statement files

When you add a CSV, OFX, or QFX file, iOS hands the app that one file. It is copied into the app's own temporary folder, read there, and the copy is removed when the app next starts. The original stays where you keep it.

What you type, and what reads it

Typing goes through the keyboard you have chosen, not through the app. Dictation sends what you say to Apple for transcription, under Apple's own privacy policy. Predictive text and a third-party keyboard can see what is typed into any app, including this one. If that matters for a note or a description, turn dictation off and use the keyboard built into iOS. The app itself keeps what you type on the device, and a device backup made with iCloud or on a computer includes it.

Files you make

Local Finance Manager builds the CSV export, the PDF report, and the backup file right here. Each one stays put until you share it or save it somewhere yourself. The backup is not locked with a password, so keep it somewhere private.

Purchases

You buy Pro from Apple, in the App Store. Apple takes care of payment, and the app confirms your purchase with Apple's StoreKit. Your card and payment details never reach the app.

No tracking

There is no analytics code and no advertising code in this app, and no tracking of any kind. Nothing about your money is sent to us, and we never receive it. We do not sell data. You can check this yourself: turn on Airplane Mode and everything keeps working, adding a statement file included, except buying or restoring Pro.

Deleting

Deleting an account deletes its transactions. Removing the app erases everything it stored here, so save a backup beforehand if you will want your ledger later.

Children

Nothing is collected about anyone using this app, at any age.

Changes

If this changes, the date above changes with it, and anything new that uses the network will be described here before it ships.
