Local Renew keeps the expiry dates of your family's documents, and the reminders for them, on your iPhone or iPad. It never asks for ID numbers or photos of your documents.

The short version
Local Renew has no accounts, no analytics, and no advertising. The app contains no code that sends your information over the internet.
What is stored
For each document: its type, whose it is, an optional nickname, the issue and expiry dates, when reminders start, the renewal checklist, and your notes. For each person: a name and how they are related to you. That is all.
What is never stored
There is no place for ID numbers, and the app cannot take or keep photos or scans of your documents. The notes field gently points it out if something typed there looks like an ID number, so you can leave it out.
Where it lives
Everything stays inside Local Renew on this iPhone or iPad. A device backup you make with iCloud or on a computer includes this app's data, as it does for most apps.
Reminders
Reminders are local notifications, scheduled by this device for this device. They show the document type, whose it is, its nickname if it has one, and the expiry date, for example "Your passport" and "Expires in 7 days", on your lock screen. You can turn them off at any time in the Settings app.
Purchases
You buy Pro from Apple, in the App Store. Apple takes care of payment, and the app confirms your purchase with Apple's StoreKit. Your card and payment details never reach the app.
Deleting
Deleting a document deletes its checklist and notes. Deleting a family member deletes their documents. Removing the app erases everything it stored here.
No tracking
There is no analytics code and no advertising code in this app, and no tracking of any kind. Nothing you enter is sent to us, and we never receive it. We do not sell data. You can check this yourself: turn on Airplane Mode and everything keeps working, reminders included, except buying or restoring Pro.
Children
Nothing is collected about anyone using this app, at any age.
Changes
If this changes, the date above changes with it, and anything new that uses the network will be described here before it ships.
