Local Subscriptions keeps a list of what renews and when: subscriptions, bills, insurance, domains and free trials. You type each one in yourself. It shows what they cost each month and each year, what is coming up, and can remind you before each date.
Adding a renewal
Tap Add a renewal, then fill in the name, the amount, how often it repeats and the next date it is due. Everything saves as you type. Tap a renewal's name at any time to open or close it.
What does Mark as renewed do?
It moves the next date forward by one step: a week, a month, a year, or the number of days you chose. Monthly and yearly renewals keep their day. Something billed on the 31st moves to the 30th in a shorter month, then back to the 31st when the month has one.
If you forget to tap it, the renewal shows as overdue in the list. Reminders still follow it, because the charge still happens.
When do reminders arrive?
Reminders arrive at 9:00 AM your local time, the number of days before each date that you choose under Reminders. With 0, the reminder comes on the day itself. If you add a renewal when that morning has already passed, the reminder comes the next morning instead, as long as that is not after the date.
9:00 AM always means 9:00 AM on your phone's local time. If you travel to another time zone, reminders follow your phone's clock there, even if you don't open the app.
Reminders arrive even when the app is closed. iOS keeps up to 64 waiting reminders for each app, so Local Subscriptions sets the soonest ones and adds more each time you open it. Opening the app now and then keeps them topped up.
If reminders are switched off in iOS, the app says so under Reminders. To allow them, open Settings, then Notifications, then Local Subscriptions.
Why does the total say it isn't converted?
If your renewals use more than one currency, the totals add the numbers as they are. Converting them would need exchange rates from the internet, and Local Subscriptions does not go online for your list.
Moving to a new device
Your list lives only on the device where you made it. Tap Save a backup under Your data and keep the file somewhere safe, such as Files or iCloud Drive. On the new device, tap Restore a backup and choose that file. Restoring replaces the list that is there, and asks first.
Export CSV makes a spreadsheet of your list. Both are free.
What does Pro add?
Without Pro, you can keep up to 3 renewals. Pro removes that limit. Renewals already in your list are never locked or removed, even if a backup brought in more than 3. Pro is a one-time purchase, and the price is shown in the app before you buy. Reminders, exports and backups work the same with or without it.
On a new device, or after reinstalling, tap Restore purchase under Pro while signed in to the same Apple Account.
Does it connect to my bank?
No. It never asks for bank details and cannot see your accounts. That is why you add each renewal yourself.
