Privacy Policy

Last updated: August 5, 2026

Eden Apps makes My Snowball, Local PDF, Local Invoice, LocalResume, Local Journal, and Local Scan, and the Mac tools: Furrow, Pagenook, Clearleaf, and Bookplate. This policy explains how we handle your information. The short version: the documents and data you create stay on your device. The information we receive is limited: your purchase details when you buy from us, and anything you choose to send us, like a support message or a newsletter signup.

Your work stays on your device

Our apps run on your device: in your browser on the web, and in the app on iPhone and iPad. The documents, numbers, and text you enter are processed locally on your device and are never uploaded to us or to anyone else. We have no servers that receive your content, because your content stays on your device.

What we don't do

Information stored on your device

To make the apps useful, they save data locally on your device: in your browser's local storage on the web, and in the app's own storage on iPhone and iPad. That includes, for example, the plan or document you're working on, and a record of a Pro upgrade you've purchased. On the web this includes a randomly generated anonymous ID and a restore code (which contain no personal information); in the iPhone and iPad apps there's no restore code. Your Pro purchase is tied to your Apple Account and restored with Restore Purchases. This data stays on your device, and you can clear it at any time from the app, or through your browser settings on the web.

The Mac tools

Furrow, Pagenook, Clearleaf, and Bookplate run on your Mac. They have no accounts and no servers of ours to talk to, so your spreadsheets, PDFs, documents, photos, and saved articles are read on your machine and stay there. We never see them, and neither does anyone else. None of the four collects analytics, telemetry, or crash reports, and none of them sends your files anywhere.

Furrow, Pagenook, and Clearleaf make no network requests at all. You can work in them with the network off and nothing changes. Bookplate is the exception, because opening web pages is what it is for: when you give it a link, it loads that page the way a browser would. The site sees your visit, and any scripts that site runs are its own, not ours. When you save an article, Bookplate also fetches that article's images so your copy still works offline later. Those requests go to the site you chose, and nowhere else. Your library itself is a file on your Mac: never uploaded, never synced, never shared.

Unlocking a Mac tool

When you buy a Mac tool here you receive a licence code. The app checks that code on your Mac, by maths, against a key built into the app itself. Nothing is sent anywhere to verify it, and unlocking works the same with the network switched off. The code is then kept in the app's own folder on your machine. It contains no personal information: only which tool it unlocks, a random order reference, and the date it was made.

If your copy came from the Mac App Store, it works differently: it arrives ready to use, so there's no code to enter and no licence file kept on your Mac at all.

Payments

When you buy a Mac tool here, the sale goes through FastSpring, which acts as the merchant of record. FastSpring is the seller for the transaction itself and handles the payment and the tax. You enter your payment details with them, and we never see or store your card number. What reaches us is your email address and what you bought, so we can send your licence code and help you if something goes wrong. That's all it's used for: never marketing, never sold, never shared. The purchase happens in your browser. The app itself never sees any part of it. See FastSpring's Privacy Policy.

If you buy a Mac tool from the Mac App Store instead, Apple handles the checkout under its own privacy policy, and we never receive your name, email, or card details.

If you upgrade to Pro on the web, payments are securely processed by Stripe and RevenueCat. You enter your payment details directly with these providers, and we never see or store your full card number. In the iPhone and iPad apps, Pro is purchased through Apple's App Store; Apple handles checkout under its own privacy policy. The app uses RevenueCat's software to confirm the purchase and manage your Pro access, so RevenueCat processes limited purchase information under its own privacy policy, and we still receive only confirmation of the purchase, not your name, email, or card details.

To process a web purchase, our payment providers share limited information with us, including:

We use this information only to confirm your purchase, process refunds, and provide customer support. Your payment information is never linked to your data inside the app, never used for marketing, and never sold or shared.

Stripe and RevenueCat process your payment and retain their own transaction records under their respective privacy policies. See Stripe's Privacy Policy and RevenueCat's Privacy Policy.

If you contact us

When you email us or use the support form on this site, we receive the email address and message you provide so we can reply. The support form is delivered to us through a form service (Web3Forms), which passes your submission to our inbox and doesn't use it for anything else. We use what you send only to help you, and contacting support does not add you to any mailing list.

Email updates (optional)

If you choose to sign up for email updates, we store the email address you give us for one purpose: to let you know when we launch a new app. We won't send you anything else, and we never sell, rent, or share your address. Our newsletter is run by Buttondown, a privacy focused email provider that stores your address only to deliver these updates. You can unsubscribe at any time using the link at the bottom of any email.

Children

Our apps are general purpose tools and are not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect information from them.

Changes to this policy

If we update this policy, we'll revise the date at the top of this page.
